We've arrived! Goodbye sweaters! Hello swimsuit!

We arrived at the Reef View Hotel at Hamilton Island in Queensland two hours before our room was ready so we grabbed a bite to eat at the hotel's Pool Terrace Restaurant where Anthony indulged in a $9.60 bottle of Corona. Yikes! Unfortunately that was the price trend of everything on this island.

The hotel was built in 1990 and some renovations in 2008 but you can tell it is definitely getting up there in age. Our room was on the 18th floor out of 19 so we had a beautiful unobstructed view of the Catseye Beach along the ocean. It was so lovely we were able to overlook the old grimy bathroom.

Our white feathered cockatoo friends visited us everyday hoping we'd give in and pass them some morsels.
Meyli was excited to have a whole queen bed to herself and was quick to claim it!
