I Almost Kissed The Ground

After finally getting off the plane, fighting our way through the duty free area, which we ended up giving up since it was way too crowded and the check out lines were insanely long, we go into the line for customs. Just in time for the pooch to come around sniffing. The last time I was around a customs dog, it was this cute little beagle. It wasn't so cute anymore when it took a little too long sniffing my bag. This time it was a yellow lab and he stuck his head my way then kept on me. Whew! Not that I had anything to hide of course!!

It took us about 45 minutes to get through customs where we finally picked up our bags then off to get a rental car. We decided on the plane that we would get one so I had my fingers crossed that they'd have a car big enough for all our 4 large checked luggages and 4 carry on luggages. We ended up getting a Toyota Aurion premium edition so it was decked out pretty nicely with leather and built in GPS. The GPS will come in handy I'm sure.

So we're in Melbourne, it's windy with 10°C which is about 50°F and driving to the house, aside from steering wheel on the wrong side and driving on the wrong side, it kinda still looks like the US. Okay, so it's not really the “wrong” side since I'm sure to them they're on the correct side and us in the states are on the wrong side but it's still weird!

The house we've rented is nice, old but ample space with a little bit of yard space for the kids to run around in. Apparently, what looks like a run down shack of a house across the street from us just sold......for A$850,000!!! So the house we're in is probably easily a cool million. But that's just how the housing market is like here. Since Anthony hasn't lived in it yet, we spent about 2 hours just cleaning up the restroom so that we could shower then head out. Just disinfecting that one bathroom already started to make the house feel cleaner and brighter.

I'm not even going to talk about the shower. Let's just say that I literally have to climb up to get into the tub/shower and the shower head probably clears my head by about an inch. So you can imagine if Anthony is 6 inches taller than me, where that shower head hits him, certainly not ABOVE his head!!
